Redesign
You may have noticed some small changes to the iconic fubarrio site recently.
Most of the changes have to do with back-end and administrative issues — things that will help me manage the site better.
To do that, I had to switch hosting software. In the meantime, just so you don’t feel completely lost, I kept the puke green color of the blog.
You should notice some other subtle changes to the blog over time — and once everyone is settled in we’ll look for a color scheme that doesn’t nauseate our 3 regular readers.

Any idea why the Capital Conservator web site is down, or when it might be back up? I’m an otherwise happy client, just hoping nothing major is wrong.

denial of service attack. i’m not a hacker but understand this is getting to be commonplace among bigger sites.
at this point, all we know is that our server cluster came under attack in new zealand so not even sure if the hackers were targeting us or (?)
coincided with some work i was doing on my own site this weekend.
my online casino friends tell me they used to get these quite frequently, and then a ‘ransom note’ by some teenage hacker in his mom’s basement…nice. There is a relatively straightforward solution for it I was told by my gambling buddies. we’ll see.
so, situation normal, all f’ed up (snafu) i’m afraid.
i’ll report more when it’s cleared up.
